Instruction for Removing Coupling.

 

  1. NOTE : Before Attempting to Remove the coupling Ensure rotor is locked out with Rotor Locking Pin.

 

  1. To remove the Allen head bolts a ¾” torque wrench and 17 mm Allen socket will be required.

 

  1. Loosed the bolts parallel  (4 on each side of coupling, As shown).  Do not remove the bolts that are perpendicular to the shaft.

  1. Remove the coupling and make sure it is clear of the generator shaft.

 

  1. Once tests are complete the Coupling can be reinstalled.  

 

  1. Place a small amount of grease under the heads of the bolts to reduce friction on the aluminum part. Place a small amount of locktite on the threads. Please ensure to not to get any locktite on the rubber of the coupling it can degrade it.

 

  1. Torque the bolts to 370 ft-lbs ( 500 Nm), using a ¾” torque wrench.
